Getting around Morocco
Trains, buses, taxis or car: the essentials for travelling between cities and inside the medinas.
Trains (ONCF)
The ONCF rail network serves Tangier, Rabat, Casablanca, Fez, Meknes, Marrakesh and Oujda, among others. The Al Boraq high-speed train links Tangier and Casablanca; at its 2018 launch the journey was announced at 2 h 10 min (source).

Long-distance buses
CTM and Supratours serve many towns, including in the South. Supratours timetables: supratours.ma.
Petit and grand taxis
Petits taxis: within cities, with a limited number of passengers; ask for the meter or agree on the fare before setting off.
Grands taxis: between nearby towns, often shared.
Car hire
Convenient for the Road of the Kasbahs, the Atlas or the desert. Check licence requirements for your nationality with the rental company, and take care at night and on mountain roads.
Domestic flights
Domestic flights link the main cities with several destinations in the South, saving time on long distances. Check with the airlines.
Inside the medinas
Medinas are best explored on foot. Lanes are narrow: wear good shoes and follow your accommodation’s directions. An official guide can help you avoid getting lost.
